Star Wars Lego Birthday Party

Today was Aidan's Star Wars Lego birthday party. He's never seen the movies but he's very much into Star Wars because of all his friends. It's actually amazing how much he knows about it though. They know of characters that I've never heard of, they'd recognize their various vessels and everything.

I cut pool noodles in half and Sean and I used
duct and electrical tape for the handles
to make these light sabers.

The food. I made rice crispy light sabers. They were
a big hit, but if I was ever to make them again, I'd use chocolate
for the handles instead of icing.

Present time!
I didn't take too many pictures: too busy with the party. It all went very well. I ran them through some Jedi training games and then they spent most of the party time playing with their light sabers in the basement while the parents hung out chatting in the living room. It was the most relaxed and easy going kids party I have ever put on.

It's funny how thrilling each of my kids' birthdays are for me. Each year, I find it so exciting. I almost blurted out to a cashier at the grocery store on Friday: "it's my kid's 7th birthday tomorrow." Each year I'm surprised by how giddy it makes me feel. Another year. My babies that aren't babies any more! 7 years guys!!!! Man does time pass...
